Faith In Our Institutions

Since the inauguration I get up in the morning, make coffee and sit down. I look at the cat. The cat looks at me. Before I look at the news I ask her, “Do you think that jackass started world war three while we were sleeping?”

She meows and I start groaning. We dodged the world war bullet again last night but, Jesus– it’s like a new gut shot every morning these days. WTF? How did this happen?

Greed. Dog-eat-dog capitalism. That’s what happened. People are getting desperate and then are susceptible to the authoritarian’s con.

Well, the Supreme Court, that will save us from this lunatic. Right? Wait, The GOPer’s stole Obama’s supreme court seat and gave it to Trump and he filled it with a radical capitalist; a “corporations are not just people, but super-people” judge. Oh shit. I have no faith in the United States Supreme Court to protect the rights of regular people. I have no faith in the United States Supreme Court to do the clear right thing. I have no faith in the United States Supreme Court as an institution. Really. It too has been corrupted by greed and the rights of the rich elites over the rights of regular people.

Well, our elected representatives will save us from this deluded man-child. Right? They stole a legitimate supreme court seat. And they routinely vote against the will of the people and for the good the rich and corporate elites. Regularly. Son-of-a-bitch. We are so screwed here.

Prepare for a crash landing, sister and brothers.
