What It Looks Like In Poland

Warszawa, 09.01.2016.

Poland may be the most instructive situation at the moment. A rightwing, authoritarian government has taken over, the legislature is defying their constitution and the press has largely become an organ of the state. The resistance there appears to be having only marginal impact despite being energized and organized. The biggest impact on the government may be the economic fallout from their undermining the rule of law.

We’ve seen similar things happening in the U.S. now at the state level in places like Wisconsin, Michigan and North Carolina. If this begins to happen on the national level, as in Poland, it will be interesting to see how the Resistance mobilizes and whether or not it’s efforts are effective. Watch and learn what works. Economics may be the key.
